The Commission has recently published the Work Programme for 2009 -2010 of the 7th Research Framework Programme in the area ICT for Governance and Policy modelling, including a first consultation meeting that took place on the 28 May 2008.
The fourth Call of the FP7 programme has been launched and will close on 1st April 2009.
The strategic objectives of the "ICT for Governance and Policy Modelling" community are:
- To build a network of peers from the public and private sector interested in policy modelling, opinion visualisation, mass collaborative platforms, large-scale societal simulations and in the use of these advanced tools by governments.
- To allow practitioners from academia, public administrations, IT companies, industry and other interested research and non research stakeholders to contribute to the definition, shape and fine-tuning of the scope of future EC eGovernment research areas
- To keep momentum for the ongoing discussions through input exchange on these topics and the establishment of a communication channel between the European Commission and potential key stakeholders and champions in the area of ICT for Governance and Policy Modelling.
